Silver Strikers Head Coach Peter Mponda has stressed the need to win the coming game saying the three points against Kamuzu Barracks on Sunday are vital in the fight for the 2024 TNM Super League.
The Central Bankers are at the top of the table with 45 points from 19 games.
In the first round, the Central Bankers came from behind to share spoils with the Chiwoko based soldiers in a 2 all affair.
Mponda, however, said he expects a tough encounter come Sunday saying Kamuzu Barracks is a strong team that always plays for a result.
“We are good to go on Sunday. We played them in the first round at Civo Stadium and It was a very difficult game. They surprised us with two quick goals but we showed our character by coming back to level the game. We learned from those mistakes, I feel that we are strongly prepared for them. KB is a very good team that likes to play very good football therefore it will be a very difficult. These three points are very important for our title, we are in a good space, and we believe in ourselves. I strongly believe that at the end of 90 minutes, we will have three points”, Mponda said.
This will be a return to league action after playing to a 4-1 win against Dedza Dynamos in cup action.
