Creck Sporting Club Coach MacDonald Mtetemera was Wednesday left seething with rage after his charges suffered a 3-2 loss to TNM Super League defending champions FCB Nyasa Big Bullets at Kamuzu Stadium.
Mtetemera blamed referees for contributing to his teams’ downfall.
“I usually do not complain about referees but this is too much. They have actually given the game to Bullets. This game has been decided by the referees. Most of their decisions were against us. They have denied us two clear goals and allowed Bullets’ third goal to stand yet it was scored from an offside position,” Mtetemera said.
However, he admitted that his troops also made some mistakes, thereby gifting Bullets goals.
“Of course, we made some mistakes but we will work on them when we go back home. However, the referees were also at fault,” he said.
In the first half, Creck had two efforts from forward Muhammad Sulumba ruled out by referee Mwayi Msungama.
On the pitch, Bullets appeared to be in control of the match when Maxwell Phodo Gasten gave them the lead in the 45th minute.
Three minutes into added time of the first half, Babatunde Adepoju doubled Bullets’ lead.
In the second half, Creck were a changed side, hitting Bullets twice in two minutes through Sulumba’s strikes in the 47th and 48th minute to level the game.
Midfielder Ernest Petro restored Bullets’ lead in the 53rd minute.
Bullets Coach Kalisto Pasuwa was left wondering with his team’s wavering performance.
“We are now scoring goals but we are conceding a lot,” Pasuwa said.
Following the win, Bullets have moved to seventh position with 30 points from 19 games while Creck have 31 points from 21 games.
Currently, Bullets trail leaders Silver Strikers by 18 points as the Central Bankers have 48 points, having played one game more.
In another game, Bangwe All Stars, under the tutelage of Trevor Kajawa, continued with their revival when they beat Baka City 3-0. Kondwani Chilembwe, Richard Lapson and Clever Chikwata scored for Bangwe.
Elsewhere, Peter Kasonga scored twice as Mafco beat Mighty Tigers 2-0 while Kamuzu Barracks beat Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos 2-0, with Christopher Mtambo and Gregory Nachipo scoring.
