An injury update ahead of our FDH Cup Round of 32 match on Sunday.

After 11 weeks of top-flight TNM Super League run, We now turn to cup action as we roll with a Round of 32 battle against Malawi Police Service Headquarters’ side, Blue Eagle FC, on Sunday.

Like any other week, the boys have been fine-tuning ahead of the cup tie on Sunday at Nankhaka Stadium in Lilongwe.

However, several faces from our squad will probably be missing in action due to injuries.

This is the injury update ahead of the match on Sunday:

As usual, we start on a positive note as Nineteen-year-old Adiel Kaduya is back in full training this week and will probably make the trip to Nankhaka Stadium after recovering from an ankle sprain. His last action was the home game against Karonga United. He has been in light training the whole of last week.

Forward Charles Chipala is going to miss the trip to Area 30 on Sunday as he has returned to rehabilitation. Chipala has some hamstring pains that resurfaced during the Lilongwe derby last Sunday. He is however in light training this week. Joining him in light training is Zebron Kalima who is still nursing a groin injury and is expected to return to action next week.

Still out of action is Gift Chunga who is still recovering from a knee injury and has almost three weeks to return to the field of play.

Binwell Katinji who suffered a chest injury in Blantyre a week ago, has about three weeks to return to action. The twist to his recovery comes after he underwent another scan last Thursday which showed that he had fractured ribs. The initial scan in Blantyre showed that he was okay and was given a three-day bed rest but in Lilongwe, a similar scan has shown otherwise.

Apart from the aforementioned players, the rest of the players are fit for action come Sunday.
