Central Bankers geared ahead of FOMO FC

Head Coach Peter Mponda has said his charges are looking for nothing short of a grand finish of home assignments in the first round of the 2024 TNM Super League on Sunday.

Silver Strikers boast of a 100 percent win record at home and head into this match after thumping Mzuzu City Hammers5-0 on Thursday.

However Mponda has warned his charges not to underrate the Mulanje based rookies come Sunday.

“Our performance on Thursday was very fantastic but this convincing win shouldn’t allow the boys to get carried away. We are playing a side that has lost a couple of points in recent game they will come to try to get points over us so we need to be alert”, said Mponda.

Silver Strikers will miss Charles Chipala, Binwell Katinji and Gift Chunga due to injury.

While Tatenda M’balaka and Paul Kansungwi are also doubtful as they picked up knocks on Thursday.

But the gaffer says this is not a worrisome development as they are equally able people to do the job on Sunday.

“We have been hit hard by injuries at the moment but this is not cause for panic and we shouldn’t start giving excuses as we signed 30 capable players that can take up the job come Sunday”, said.
