Good to be back home-Mponda

Head Coach Peter Mponda says his side feels good returning home to host Mzuzu City Hammers in the 2024 TNM Super League after 54 days on the road.

Silver Strikers last played at home on 25th May this year in a 4-2 win against Karonga United.

Mponda, however, has called on his troops to tread carefully as they go in the 13th match on Thursday saying the visitors are a good side.

“It’s a good feeling to come back home after a long time playing away, our form has been perfect but our opponents have also been on a good run which makes this game exciting. Going into this match we want the boys to maintain their fighting spirit and attitude of not wanting to lose. We would like to have a good start to this game and be on top of the pressure that comes with it and do better, we would also like to encourage our fans to come in large numbers and continue the good job they are doing”, said Mponda.

Mzuzu City Hammers travel to Area 47 after a win last week against Dedza Dynamos as the Central Bankers return home from a two-all draw against Kamuzu Barracks on Sunday.

The Bankers are still unbeaten and top of the table with 30 points from 12 games.
