Injury update for the upcoming Lilongwe Derby.

Ten weeks of action have gone by and we still top the 2024 TNM Super League table with 26 points.

In our eleventh match, we face Capital City archrivals Civil Service United at Civil Stadium in Lilongwe on Sunday. This is the first Lilongwe Derby of the 2024 season and several faces from our squad probably won’t be seen in action through injury.

This is the injury update for week number 11 of the 2024 TNM Super League.

Atusaye Nyondo who had issues with his shoulder has returned to full training this week and is geared to return to action over the weekend. Joining him back in action is left-back Tatenda M’balaka who missed the Mighty Tigers game in Blantyre on Monday due to an Achilles injury. His Sonography last Thursday showed that he is clear to play.

After a short rehabilitation last week, Charles Chipala has this week returned to full training with the rest of the team and is available for selection ahead of the Lilongwe Derby. Chipala had some hamstring pains.

Forward Adiel Kaduya is back in light training this week after recovering from an ankle sprain weeks ago. The medics are still monitoring his recovery ahead of the derby.

Missing the Lilongwe Derby this week is Gift Chunga who is still recovering from a knee injury and has almost three weeks to return to the field of play. Also sidelined ahead of the Lilongwe’s most anticipated football party is Zebron Kalima who is nursing a groin injury and is expected to return after two weeks.

New on the injury list this week is Binwell Katinji who suffered a chest injury on Monday in Blantyre. Katinji have another scan on Thursday to ascertain his availability but he might miss close to two weeks of action.

The rest of the boys are ready for action on Sunday as the Central Bankers continue with the quest to gather more points in the 2024 TNM Super League.
