Mighty Mukuru Wanderers have set the stage for Saturday’s crunching tie against bitter rivals FCB Nyasa Big Bullets by rolling out advanced ticket sales.
The two teams will clash in a TNM Super League encounter at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
The Nomads are leading the exercise in their capacity as the home team. They have since formed a steering committee with other stakeholders including Bullets to promote the derby.
Advance open stand tickets are at K4,000 each but on match day, they will go at K5,000.
An MBC stand ticket is worth K6,000 each in advance while at the gate on match day, the same will be at K8,000.
A seat at the covered stand is worth K8,000 in advance and K10,000 on the day while a VIP stand seat will go at K25,000 on match day, and K20,000 in advance.
Wanderers Brands and Marketing Manager Greyson Chapita said they are setting up selling points in different townships across Blantyre City to enable football fans access the tickets.
“As the home team, we are in the forefront spearheading ticket sales. We want to get close to the fans so that everyone who is interested should buy the tickets. This is a highly anticipated match and supporters should buy tickets in advance to avoid last minute inconveniences.
“We are going in different locations within Blantyre with our public address system urging fans to buy tickets in advance to secure their slot. This is an opportunity they should not miss as their beloved teams come face to face,” Chapita said.
He said they are sharing notes with all stakeholders including Bullets.
“We have a committee where all issues regarding tickets are being discussed and resolved. At this moment, every stakeholder knows how many tickets have been allocated. The tickets have hidden strong features designed to prevent counterfeits. Officials are alert to distinguish counterfeits and prevent fraud,” Chapita said.
Bullets Commercial Manager Kelvin Moyo confirmed working jointly with Wanderers on advance ticket sales.
“There is a committee with officials from both teams looking into advance ticket sales, match promotion and security, among others,” Moyo said.
The first round Blantyre derby between the two at a jam-packed Kamuzu Stadium grossed K80,496,000.
