Scoring and grabbing maximum points is proving the order of the day for Silver Strikers Youth in the 2024 FCB Katswiri Under 20 League in Lilongwe where the team is topping the table with 24 points from nine games.
This far, the team has only lost once and won eight times.
Talking of their scoring boots, the kids from Area 47 have 34 goals emulating the seniors who are also leading by the number of goals scored in the top flight TNM Super League. Forward Alex Chaundwe is the leading top goal scorer with 17 goals, half the total number of goals scored by the team.
The Green Harawa-led side has conceded 11 goals only and is the second-best conceding side in the league after Vision Sporting Academy which has let in 8 goals only.
The side has managed to score more than two goals in each they have played save for the loss against Villa FC where they scored a goal only.
Over the weekend, the Area 47 youth side will be away from home as they will visit Vision Sporting Academy on Saturday at Livimbo Ground and also make a trip to Mvunguti Primary School ground on Sunday to entertain Mvunguti Sporting Soccer Club.
